Pulmonary Function Test- A pulmonary function test (PFT) is a medical procedure that measures how well your lungs are working. A PFT can help determine if you have any lung problems and may indicate whether you need further testing. A pulmonary function test measures the amount of air that moves through your lungs. This measurement helps doctors evaluate your breathing ability and identify potential health issues. The following tests are commonly performed in a pulmonary function test:

·         Spirometry – measures the volume of air moving into and out of your lungs.

·         Lung capacity – Measures the total amount of air that can move into and out of your chest cavity.

·         Peak flow rate – Measures the speed at which air flows from your nose and mouth into your lungs.

·         Arterial blood gas analysis – Measures the level of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your blood.
